Tractor crash causes fires, power outage
POLKTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A tractor hit a power pole near Coopersville on Friday, sparking two fires and knocking out power to to the city. Lt. Brent Veldheer, of the Coopersville/Polkton Fire Department, described a ‘domino-effect’ sequence of events. It started at a farm along 68th Avenue south of I-96 around 4 p.m. Veldheer said tractor there hit a power pole and knocked down some power lines, sparking a fire.
