Ottawa Co. Sheriff deputy who battled colon cancer passes away
GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An Ottawa County Sheriff deputy who has been battling colon cancer for the past year has passed away. Deputy Matt Chatfield passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday morning, according to the Chatty’s Cheerleader’s Facebook page. He was 39-years-old. According to the Facebook page, Chatfield returned to his home last night, escorted by his fellow deputies. Friends and neighbors lined their street in support of him.
