Local health officials urge caution with canine flu
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kent County Health Department is urging dog owners to use caution after two cases of the canine flu were reported in Kent County. The canine flu has been confirmed in 1,200 dogs in ten states including three in Michigan, according to the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The other case of canine flu was reported in Macomb County. The H3N2 virus can cause a fever and make dogs lethargic. Symptoms can last two weeks. Health officials warn dog owners to use...
