Grand Haven to honor people who rescued distressed swimmers
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Five people who helped rescue two teen girls who were caught in rip currents in Lake Michigan will be honored for their bravery. The swimmers, 13- and 14-year-old girls from Grand Haven, were swept about 800 feet out from Grand Haven’s South Pier on Aug. 20. A group of five people, including surfer Zebulon Boeskool, helped pull the girls to safety. Both of the girls were hospitalized with injuries, but are expected to recover.
