Firefighter being remembered in South Haven today
SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Funeral services will be held today for a firefighter who died while battling wildfires in the state of Washington. He will be remembered in his hometown of South Haven. Richard Wheeler, 31, was one of three firefighters who were killed while battling a wildfire near Twisp, Washington. Wheeler graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in natural resources management. He was a fourth-generation firefighter.
