Downtown’s growth sparks new coverage plan for GRPD
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As Grand Rapids continues to grow, Police Chief David Rahinsky says he wants to establish a police service that covers downtown. If trends continue, downtown will account for nearly 20 percent of calls for service to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Currently there are four service areas — one for each quadrant of the city.
