Challenge Scholars program exceeds fundraising goal
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – The Grand Rapids Community Foundation announced Wednesday that it has exceeded its fundraising goal of $32 million for the Challenge Scholar program by $1.6 million. Fundraising for the program began around this time last year. Donations for the program came from individuals, foundations and corporations around West Michigan. Sixth grade students who attend Harrison Park Elementary or Westwood Middle School are eligible to be Challenge Scholars. The program provides academic as well as health social services for students through graduation from Union High School....
