2nd record fish caught in Newaygo County pond
NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. – The Hardy Dam Pond is known for its boating recreation and fishing and is now home to its second record catch of the summer. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says that Blake Wilson of Lake Ann, Michigan caught a 9.42lbs, 25-inch quillback carpsucker with a bow on July 16.  That is a record for the species in Michigan.  It breaks the record set just last month, also on Hardy Dam Pond.  That fish was 8.52lbs. and was caught by Garrett Reid of Nashville, Michigan.
