Eastown Yoga and Thai Massage - Ashtanga (or Power Yoga) is an aerobic, muscle-shaping, mind-centering, physically demanding workout. The class will move you through a series of movements (asanas) to help you build strength, flexibility, stamina and decrease pain. Asthanga appeals to athletes and students who are looking to work hard, increase energy and reduce stress. We also offer introductory classes for our students who are new to yoga. Ashtanga yoga is dynamic and energetic - using both breath and movement to generate heat and eliminate toxins.

We are the newest yoga studio in Grand Rapids and are excited to bring this high-energy style of yoga to west Michigan. Come see how good you can feel!

Information: Alexandra Chanel has been practicing ashtanga yoga for 12 years. She received her certification training through Center for Yoga which focuses heavily on both movement and meditation. Alexandra has been actively bringing the gift of yoga to Grand Rapids since August 2007. Alexandra and Jessica Anne are both certified Thai Massage Therapists. Thai massage differs from table massage in that it is practiced clothed and on a mat on the floor. Yoga poses are used to increase flexibility and range of motion.
